An amazing thing happened to me last week. Okay some would not say being on beautiful Island in the Maldives only to have your professional camera brake mid landscape shoot is not “amazing.” But I learned something. Three years ago I was lucky enough to be on that same Island. Last time other photographers had SLR's, impressive waterproof cases, and tripods. But this time every one was a photographer- capturing the landscape with their phones then sharing the images instantly on their facebook, google+, twitter, wechat, or Weibo. People want to “share,” their images instead of creating the highest quality image. That means more photos of everything but less quality. I remember people “buying” a camera for their big overseas trip. Special locations meant a special investment in new camera gear. But people are sacrificing quality for the ease of what I call "shoot and share." I must admit I enjoyed the ease it took just having a camera phone in my pocket, ready ...

I loved teaching my daughter and her classmates about old cameras.  This generation  will never use film. They were amazed.  I miss the romance of film. I still think old cameras are beautiful. I can't imaging my modern digital slr ever sitting on my bookcase.

What a spectacular view from Cremorne Point. Sydney really comes alive at New Year. Being in a warm city for the celebrations really allows a party spirit. What a memorable fireworks display.

The Powerhouse is based In the inner city suburb of Pyrmont, the Powerhouse museum houses space relics, the oldest working steam engine and other historic and inspiring objects. A must see in Sydney #sydney #emeraldcity #ilovesydney 

The Royal national park in Sydney had beautiful beaches. Start with a coffee by the river, feed the ducks then cruise down to the naturally beautiful beaches for a dip. 

Recently Sydney had the Navy Fleet Review sail into Sydney harbour. From Cremorne Point you could see the spectacular display. I had to capture it. Enjoy

Best place to be on Sunday is rocks markets sydney. There are great characters and it's right next to sydney harbour. Here are my pics. How cute is that puppy!
